In teaching learning of English, actually, there are six parts that should be taught to the students, They are:

  1. Listening
  2. Speaking
  3. Reading
  4. Writing
  5. Grammar
  6. Vocabulary

 

Here, I am going to try to write the purposes and the ways of teaching them.

1. Listening

            The purpose of listening lesson is to practice student’s ear, memory in receiving information directly from the speaker. We can know how far the student’s memory to understand what the speaker said and how the students recognize some vocabularies spoken directly.

            The ways of teaching listening are vary. We can choose some of these ways.

 

The ways of teaching

The students must do

* Students should listen a text spoken in

   English and recognize the words.

* Students should listen a text spoken in

   English by remembering the information

   Existed in the text.

* Students should listen a text spoken in

   English by analyzing the topic or the

   main idea of the text.

* Students are given some pictures.

 

 

* Students should listen a conversation

   from the speaker.

 

 

* Students should listen uncompleted

   conversation

·     Students are given some Indonesian words and they should find the synonym

    of the words in English.

·     Students are given some statements and they should choose the right statement

    related to the text spoken.

·     Students are given some topics or main

    ideas and they should find the right one 

    related to the text spoken.

·     Students are given some statements in

   each picture and they should choose the

   right statement based on the picture.

·     Students are given some statements (topic, main idea, activity, location) in 5 options and they should choose the right

   one.

·     Students should complete it correctly by choosing one from five option given.

 

These are the ways of teaching learning of listening lesson based on my experience. I know that there are more ways of it and I will try to up date what I have had now later.
